I think I know why Hank said “if the creek don’t rise”. I went to the family cemetery on the homeplace of my great-grandparents in Lawrence County, Tennessee. There was a small creek which, if it was overflowing, it would have been impossible to leave home to go anywhere. Man…I never gave country music a chance because I absolutely hate today’s country singers like Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney…but Hank Williams is so great! I wish that this is what country music still sounded like…
